After he reveals his homosexuality to his mother, she banishes him from her life, and he struggles to win back her love. Feeling alone in the world, Isaiah soon falls in love. When the relationship ends, he starts a downward spiral, and eventually ends up in rehab. After his recovery, he moves to New York to begin a new life. But when Isaiah finds love again, he also discovers that he has AIDS. It is then that he starts writing a diary in an effort to chronicle his life before his death. A Long Wait is the touching story of one man's search for approval and love amidst the prejudices of our time.
