But even on her honeymoon, signs of strain begin to show. She begins to wonder if she really knows the man she married. Was she crazy to rush into marriage? Will there be a return to love? Marguerite Scales was born in the little village of Lindfield in Sussex. Her husband died six years ago after a long illness. She has three sons, two daughters, five grandchildren, six great- grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild. She is a keen gardener. She also loves writing and has had four poems published. She was a children's nanny in 1947 and has always loved children. During the fifties she became a foster mother and looked after twenty-one children, the last one she adopted.
