The epochal inter house sports competition of Uluwe (Mixed) Grammar School is a red lettered one. It features various sporting activities most spectacular of which are the different races that the students take part in. Inter house sports has come and gone but the students' life's races continue.
In the race of life, Chioma and Jessica are classmates who live like a cat and rat. The former is a naive village girl born into abject poverty while the latter is born with a silver spoon in her mouth. In a bid to change the status quo and rewrite the narrative, she, Chioma, firmly resolves to work hard, the result of which is her incontestable intelligence.
