Alvina is a beautiful and studious girl in her late teens who falls in love with the envy of the school, Sanga. Together they seemed to have it all together and were determined to make a name for themselves by graduation. Mr. Lazare Ngandue, Alvina's father had other plans. He intended to send her to the United States in an attempt to help her have a better future than that she would have with the poor village boy. Alvina also had other plans too. She married Sanga before departing. The United States wasn't the picturesque life that her father envisioned for her. The plots to destroy Alvina's marriage, and ruin her vow to stay chaste and faithful to her husband would be deployed by the people she should have been able to trust the most. Alvina feels her life is in shambles and has to pick up the pieces and try to regain control in her life and find happiness again.
