If I didn't know Kirk DeBolt, I would probably have a different idea about cops, and definitely Marines. Maybe if he hadn't helped me recover millions of dollars worth of watches lost by a famous Hollywood producer. Or maybe if he wasn't a perfect gentleman after one of the pretty daughters of an important Colombian family offered a "private tour of her country" while visiting Vegas for the first time. I could go on. But mostly because I know Kirk, my opinion only rose of those who sacrifice their safety to protect others. So when he invited me to visit a few friends that he was having a party with, I asked what the occasion was. Kirk answered: "The Second Amendment." I couldn't make the party, but in 2016 I wrote this account of his exploits. And for the record, Kirk is not the only one featured in the book with a very real-life equivalent. I hope, as I intended when I wrote, that it makes you proud to be an American.
