Thirteen years after aliens landed on Earth, humans now live in underground facilities known as Farms. Little more than overgrown petrie dishes used at the disposal of the dying invaders. As a means to appease the aliens and find a way to coexist, survivors have been forced to radically alter their concept of what it means to be human. Women have become the most sought-after commodity. The aliens are insatiable in their efforts to create a viable hybrid program by controlling the human's breeding, cataloguing the most desirable DNA. But not everyone is on board with sacrificing their women like goats to slaughter in the name of peace. Some Farms have rebelled, and paid dearly for it with their lives. Now the Farm where Sloane lives is on the brink of rebellion too, but the aliens are losing their touch. They're breaking their own rules, slipping into the underground, and sowing division as well as paranoia. Sloane means to end this reign of greed and oppression once and for all, but will she be strong enough to overcome the propaganda thrust upon the humans or wind up another victim of this survival experiment gone wrong?
