About the Author Born in Illinois in 1936, I was raised in Oswego, New York, the son of an English Professor at the State University of New York. I became a teacher in 1958. Moving to California in 1960, I continued to teach, earn a MA in Educational Administration at Cal Poly, SLO, taught math and was Principal of an Adult School for the final 15 years of my career as an educator when I retired in 1993. My home in San Juan Capistrano was purchased in 1967, have been married twice, have three children and took up the fine art of writing in 1995.
