Ocean liner Jade Viking was hijacked, with thirty-five hundred crew and passengers, by an alien race, the Ananab. Martial arts movie star Jim Morris led a successful rebellion, seizing the alien ship. When it docked at its home port, the humans captured the space station, although not without casualties. Initial attempts to retake the station by the Ananab failed. Deciding what to do now divides the humans. Some want nothing more than to return home and pretend nothing ever happened. Others see potential gain, for themselves and the interests they represent, with the captured alien technology. Some, along with Jim, stay on the station, to act as a defensive buffer, while others, led by his new wife, Kimberly Martin, a Wall Street lawyer, return home to try and prepare defenses. When survivors begin to reappear back on Earth, struggles between governments, corporations, and other interests threaten to unravel everything Kimberly is attempting. Jim, Kimberly, and company must find a way to inoculate Earth, strengthen planetary defenses, and prepare for the inevitable day the aliens return with a sky full of ships.
