Darth and Lana, she an Islamic woman of faith, he more or less a Catholic man of faith, are called to develop a Life in the Spirit for an orphan beggar child and a child prostitute. For as long as this takes they accept one another as "husband and wife in the spirit" and look after their children in the spirit - for all we know such children could be angels. The explanation is in the form of a chapter about how two people met and fell in love - each group is giving the reader a hint.
