This book acts as a step-by-step and complete guide to color image segmentation and to study in detail the image segmentation process. Also, one can do his/her research project on image segmentation. In this book, an exhaustive literature on existing approaches are critically analysed and compared. Thorough analysis of graph based segmentation methods is shown. Later, an optimum method is proposed wherein the various important processes like preprocessing, noise removal, speeding up, merging, and labelling of segmented images is done. The results are evaluated and compared using various performance evaluation parameters like execution time, performance ratio, PSNR, precision and recall. We have provided the MATLAB codes for each and every step. This work has 18000+ reads and 90+ citations.
