About the Author Adebanke was born on July 31 1972 in Osun state, Nigeria daughter of Samuel and Bernice Adeleye. She attended elementary and middle school in Nigeria and moved to the United States in 1989. She attended high school at Stillwater High in Oklahoma and graduated from Kecoughtan High in Virginia. It was in High school she began writing poems as an artistic outlet to express most of her emotions. Most of her poems are Christian infl uenced. Being that her Christian beliefs has been paramount in her life. Langston University of Oklahoma is where she continued her education growing not only intellectually, but socially. Her experiences with people, campus life and the world itself profoundly and ultimately impacted her writings upon graduation; Detroit Michigan was her next destination teaching for over seven years in the public school system. There she married Devlin Cabe'an and they were blessed with two wonderful children.
