I believe that any person who has made a career out of working for business corporations has several interesting and poignant stories to tell. And from these stories, there are several insights and learnings to share. It does not matter where you’re located. You may have spent most of your career in Allen, TX; Huntley, IL; or Mesa, AZ or for that matter, it could be Krakow, Poland; Antwerp, Belgium; or Dresden, Germany. I have had the good fortune to work for multinationals like Unilever, Citibank, McCann-Erickson and BNP Paribas, in addition to the best local firms in my part of the world. The learning-based strategies introduced in this book have universal applications in any industry and marketplace, but more especially so if you are young and full of potential and envisioning a long and successful corporate career.Working for a wide variety of corporate cultures for more than three decades have given me abundant insights on how to jumpstart one’s corporate career. And in a world that is getting smaller and flatter, these insights are intended for everyone to whom it resonates, whoever you are, wherever you are, and whether you are in a market environment that is experiencing an economic downturn or upturn. This is not an auto-biography. However, I do inject aspects of my professional and personal life experiences when needed to illustrate a key point. The book is structured around 25 learning-based insights that I call strategies. Think of it as suggested travel itineraries to make your corporate journey successful, complete and well-spent. Perhaps, I could have shared these strategies through a website or a blog. But, a book, either electronic or paper form, has its own unique charm. So, here it is.
