A young girl named Kiko has a knack for adventure and is looking for a brand new place to explore. Tired of the boring options she's used to, Kiko plans a bold mission and decides to travel to the moon. During her preparation, Kiko realizes that she has a big problem though... the moon is very, very, VERY far away. Determined to solve this problem, Kiko decides to build a staircase in order to help her reach the moon. With each step she builds, Kiko documents her progress in her journal. The higher she builds, the more she sees. Sights like her school, her town, her state, her country, cars that look like ants, and the puffiest of marshmallow clouds are just some of the treats she gets to see along the way. Slowly but surely, Kiko gets closer and closer to reaching her destination, while seeing the world from a new perspective each step of the way. When she finally reaches the moon, Kiko gets to explore the surface and hunt for aliens. She drives the lunar rover and even gets to experience what it feels like to fly. As the result of all of her hard work, Kiko reflects on the sense of accomplishment she feels from staying dedicated towards achieving her goal one step at a time.
