Based on the classical ballet of the same name, La Sylphide is an exciting tale about a mischievous fairy who runs amok through a small village in Scotland. The story begins when a beautiful fairy arrives in the village one morning. A young man named James see her and falls for her immediately. But James is meant to marry Effie later that same day. What should he do? Honor his promise or follow his heart? Joining in this adventure is a snarled old witch who tells of a prophesy that this wedding will not go on. Much chaos occurs in this classic Scottish fairytale, a playful story about love and what is the meaning of friendship. A wonderful story with a moral for kids of all ages and for us adults who believe in "fairies and witches all sorts of things... "

La Sylphide is the first in a series of children's books based on classical ballets. The Rogue Swan Adventure Series is written and adapted by immigrant children who have just recently come to America. Our books contain original text and illustrations from our wonderfully talented child artists.
