Software testing is a separate discipline from software development. It is both a process and a discipline. Software testing is a technique aimed at evaluating an attribute or usability/capability of a program or system/product and determining that it meets its quality. It is an activity to check whether the actual results match, the expected results and to ensure that the software system is defect free.
