The peripheral view to the main characters in the book entails the ambitious and charismatic political leader by the name of Rene Fouche from France whose aim is to head the new one world government. He achieves this with the help of the new pope in Rome. Pope Peter is a newly elected black pope from Africa who was elected by the cardinals in 2008. Together Rene Fouche and Pope Peter form a union to plot the control of the world.
