A carefree farmer's son who made the difficult decision to respect the decision of the American Government about Vietnam and not risk alienating his perceived society by refusing to serve in the military. I was the first to serve in three generations as Farmers had been exempted as vital to America. I returned bitter and uncaring to anyone who I had not known from my past life. One lucky evening I put my arm around the waist of a woman who had been told here is someone tall enough for her. My world turned over and the ice around my heart cracked! I had not even looked at Donna but for the next 48 years she taught me to Care and Love! Donna's love still carries me forward! The writing of our memories is a transcription from a recording of random thoughts during travel. We retired after Donna became mature enough to retire. After 30 days together in a Motorhome we decided we had spent more hours of time alone enhanced our relationship. After more than 15 years of being a Farmer and Farmwife we transitioned to being Pastor and sidewalk Farmer. The best years of our lives occurred after this change. Donna died 2 years ago yesterday! I'm trying to follow her advice not to become a Hermit. I'm more of a Hobo than ever before. The transcription occurred during a cruise around South America as the days at sea were the only time I could think of as an opportunity focus on transcription. Life must go on even if you are lonely.
