The 45 folk-style designs signify themes ancient and modern: pre-Christian crosses, mermaids, dancers, animals, birds, butterflies, fish and flowers, abstracts, and repeating mazes. The introduction includes photographs of the Cuna; captions identify the motifs and give Cuna names.
