Nicole Swanson, upon receiving her master's degree, lands a position in IT security at the Preston Financial Group, an international firm in Des Moines, which eventually takes her all over the world. Utilizing the Moonstruck Watchdog program she designed to get her master's, her group of tech's mission is to target possible Prime Bank Note Schemes within the firm and its branches. Special Agents Troy Helms and Dale Younger were working on a mail fraud case during Nicole's last school year, and Troy had an apartment across the street from hers. The three become friends, and Nicole falls for the one she cannot have, providing background stress not only between her and the agents but also between the two agents.
