Susie, an austere college student, frequently crosses paths with Dan, the popular boy-next-door. He's curiously at the right place at the right time, effortlessly helping complete strangers in the most amazing ways. Susie develops an interest in Dan, but he appears too distracted to notice - unbeknownst to Susie, he's too busy saving her life.

After several strange events that are too coincidental to be just luck, Dan reluctantly informs her that she has unknowingly been targeted by two rival clairvoyant factions that have been engaging in a lethal, unseen conflict since the beginning of mankind.
