The independent priest contributes to the post Vatican II world; in every assignment or situation, whether it is the inner city neighborhoods, small rural communities, a Central American mission, or a wealthy parish, the priest finds his niche. But he is a diocesan priest and restrictions exist, and his primary adversary has influence and power.
