As a field of action, public administration refers to the mechanics and structures through which government policies are implemented. This book is designed to familiarize readers/learners with the concepts, principles, characteristics and theories of management in government. Apart from the introduction of principles and theories, it also covers in depth discussion on administrative functions to be performed by public managers. Major aspects of public management such as public policy, public personnel management and financial administration are also briefly covered to introduce learners to the pillars of public management.
