It will thus be understood that every path pursued by an ordinary human being is a railway, a path full of obstacles to forge a life. As such is the Calvary suffered by Akonga, the main character of this novel.
But "Railway" is also a novel of love. It portrays a story of a very ambitious and intelligent young man who is forced to give up his studies because of a challenge he encountered: to carve out, for all the necessary and legitimate means, and a life to conquer Malou, the only true love, The only woman who has conquered his heart, the only human being he really loves.
