In this book, the author reveals the harsh realities of life in Mexico, exposing the iniquitous laws devised and imposed on all things Catholic. He examines the real purpose of these laws, and the main personalities involved, and shows how the resultant uprising of the ordinary people, the Cristero War, led to increased government brutality and the martyrdom of many innocent civilians, particularly priests and young Catholic laymen. Red Mexico is a valuable primary source account of a nation persecuted for its religious faith, written by a man of unquestioned courage and integrity, who was there at the time.
