About the Author I was born and raised in the small town of Westfield in northern Pennsylvania. I was never popular growing up. Even into adulthood I was not one of the beautiful people and so I was looked over many of times.  Through everything I kept my head held high and never gave up.  I have always been the type of person to not let things stand in my way.  My father and my great-grandmother taught me at a young age to be strong and to fight for what I wanted and for what I believe in. At a young age I began writing poetry.  For as long as I can remember I always loved reading and when I was eleven my father gave me my first novel, Christine by Stephen King.  Since that time I wanted to be a writer.  My dream followed me to Germany where my love for writing grew stronger.  As time went on I decided that I would attempt my dream and so I began to write.  After about a year of working a full-time job, taking care of my family and writing my dream has finally come true.  I have now started on my second book and am hoping for this first one to become a success. All I can hope for is that my readers will be able to do as I have and not let others stand in their way no matter how difficult their paths in life may seem to be. I wrote Scarlet Dawn because so many people both men and women get passed over because of women who are beautiful but have no qualifications. I could never understand how that could happen and I'm certain that there are people who will read this book and be able to in some way relate to Scarlet just as I do.
