A nice family, rescuers and an animal control officer all work together to help this tiny 5 pound terrier. In the end, she finds the perfect retired couple to love her forever. Lessons embedded in the book include:Dogs need to be on a harness and leash or contained in a secure yard. Dogs need vaccinations, spay/neuter, id chip, and treatment for medical conditions. Finding a dog requires either looking for the owner for 30 days or turning the dog in to animal rescue or animal control. Foster homes are temporary havens to keep pets safe, while they get vet care and find loving homes. Pets do get away and people need to be careful. Sometimes it takes more than one try for a pet to find the right home.
