Grace, mercy and forgiveness is often preached but too often judgment is the result when interacting with one who has slipped. Although God views sin as sin, unfortunately the acts of sin are categorized as though there is a Christian court system which deems some acts as misdemeanors and felonies. Still the question remains, what about those who have not willfully done wrong. They messed up. They slipped. If you have ever tripped on an uneven walkway, a slippery floor, or on a patch of ice, then you are familiar with the uncomfortable experience of trying to break a fall to avoid breaking your bones. Medical studies show that it's been documented that in rare cases even traumatic brain injury and concussions have resulted from the violent jerking and fast movements of trying to break a fall. These near-misses often come with ridicule from close friends and loved ones that you are just "putting on" and believing that the pain you are experiencing is just in your mind. Why? Because there are no broken bones and the fall was avoided it was assumed that you will easily recover. Truth is you don't look like what you've been through. Ligaments and muscles have been pulled out of place but your frame is intact, so therefore public opinion believes that you are using this event of the near fall just to get attention. But the pain is real and so is limp. #SLIPPED
