I'll admit when I caught a murder on my very first night of wearing that probationary sheriff's badge, I found myself rethinking my wisdom in taking that position.

It wasn't that I didn't think I could do the job. I was very good at enforcing the law. Very, very good. In fact, I was rather uniquely suited to the task, I thought. I had no blinders keeping the paranormal truth of things from my vision.

That meant the Luparri werewolf hunters would be on the prowl. Which shouldn't be all that much of an issue, as I happened to know the local Luparri agent. Actually, I was kind of dating the man.

My main problem? He didn't know I was a werewolf.

Well, half werewolf, anyway.
