His wisdom is collected here in this extended volume relating to maintaining monastic discipline. However, unlike the more common set of orders and rules that are set forth by monastic leaders, this work is not one of strict legal codes. St. Orsisius offers advise to his successors on the pure practical and interpersonal relationships that need to be fostered within the common.
