At the time of the first edition, author Dr. Reid was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Education at Mico Teachers' College, Jamaica. She is at present a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education, University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. A graduate of Columbia University's Teachers' College, the University of the West Indies and Shortwood Teachers' College, she holds the Doctor of Education, Master of Education, Master of Arts in Educational Administration, the Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration degrees, and the Teachers' Diploma.
