Once, in a moment of emotionalism, or something else I can't describe, I wanted to gather together about a thousand people and write a book that held the answers to almost every problem a person could have. What stopped me was the fact that even if I ever managed to finish the book, it would have been so big that a person would have had to have a friend help him turn the pages so he could locate the problems and the answers inside the book. The reason I gave up the idea was most friends already know all the answers to our problems. The Canal is a delightfully funny tale of sorts about ordinary, well, maybe not ordinary, let's say, anti-social people who, by chance, happen to meet at the wrong time in the right place, the saloon. It has nothing to do with any real person or a real place but a lot of different people I have met in a lot of different places. I just happen to love Fremont and so I made it happen there.Beware! There is a lot of sex and nasty language in the text, so if you are not an open-minded sort, I would suggest you just pass this one up, but if you like to laugh it's one hell of a funny book!
