The concept is simple--get them the hell out! Jac Teerink and Elaine Prevot carry carefully packed suitcases containing two ancient handwritten copies of the Quran. Also in their care is a one-of-a-kind history of North Africa prepared before most linguists believe a written language existed in the area. Instructions provided to the couriers are simple: drive the documents from Timbuktu to Nyala, Sudan. Deliver them to a Professor Ammon Darwishi. No sweat. But the Boko Haram has other plans.
