In The Fighting Flyers, the author describes his personal quest to share a golden time of his childhood with a new generation of children. He takes on the task to bring a small haven to children of this downtrodden community. Baseball gives the children of this neighborhood an opportunity, a dream, a chance to become something more than a statistic. More than just a game, more than just a pastime, baseball brings children and adults from all walks of life together, all for the sake and the love of the game.
