Dear friends & first time readers,

This book is due to be published a few weeks before Christmas 2024. I've been told it's the most wonderful time of the year. People are dreaming of white Christmases, and trying to make it home for Christmas, and giving away their hearts for Christmas. But, let's be honest. Christmas is for kids.

That being said, this is not a children's book. I'm tremendously grateful to my siblings and in-laws for providing such an abundance of nieces and nephews for my husband and I to spend Christmases with. But, unfortunately, I am infertile. When I was 25, I had a total hysterectomy due to severe endometriosis and pelvic congestion syndrome. The surgery was my decision, and it was the most painful choice I've ever had to make. It's important to note that the hardest decision I ever made is also the best decision I've ever made. Getting a hysterectomy made it possible for me to have a life without chronic pain.

This book is about struggling with infertility during the holiday season. I didn't try to make it funny, or light. Hopefully, my vulnerability will hold value for some of you. If you don't know why your childless aunt gets sad or angry during the holidays, I hope that this book will help you understand. If you're a person struggling with infertility, please know that you are worth more than the sum of your parts. Some trees are only meant to flower, not to bear fruit.
