Sadie Braun returns with her third poetry collection, The Underworld. Written in 2020 during global quarantine and upheaval in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, her work is a result of creative bursts in isolation and offers a raw, immediate perspective on the realm of the unknown, unseen, taboo, and answers to what rebirth is. Sadie is a Chicago born and raised artist mainly working through mediums of poetry and writing. Writing poetry allows her art to be a fusion of her love for lyrics, rhythm, and narrative. Her cryptic diction, elaborate metaphors, and experimentation that knows no boundaries with syntax, phonics, voice, and form have brought to her work a unique voice when handling broad concepts on a personal level namely love, death, youth, religion, and isolation. She currently lives in Paris, where she is fulfilling a Bachelor's degree in French/English literary translation.
