Al is what many would call a street mouse and being a professional thief is a less than savory job. Al has spent the last several years working for the corrupt prince of Acondra, which was a great gig to have until Prince Arish decided to burn Al making her completely unhirable. In her anger and frustration she breaks in to the Cave of Wonders to steal the valuable djinn bottle from Prince Arish in hopes to barter for some money, except Prince Arish was prepared for her and in a desperate attempt to escape her doomed fate she releases the forbidden djinn from his bottle.

Dade has waited a millennia to be released from the bottle his sister cursed him to. When a cute and tempting street mouse releases him from his bottle. Dade isn't thrilled to be tethered to a master. However, the world has changed since Dade last lived in it, and the street mouse offers knowledge of the new world he desperately needs to seek his revenge.

With their fate intertwined the two of them set out on what should be an impossible mission. Dade wants revenge and to claim his rightful place as Sultan of Acondra while Al simply wants to not have to worry about the simple things like where her next meal will come from. What starts off as a mission for revenge soon turn to a mission for liberation of an entire race. As Dade and Al fight their building attraction and strong feelings while trying to focus on their mission they end up discovering a whole new world and that sometimes the unfathomable is exactly what they need.
