Wardance tells of the trials and tribulations of an extended family as they face the Collegium's bloody-minded determination to reconstruct what was lost when the Imperium blundered into a one- sided war with the Norgathi, an ancient alien race occupying star systems closer to the galactic core. Attempting to rebuild the Imperium, the Collegium's bureaucratic order ran into fierce resistance from the Akkadians. Fighting back, the Akkadian's set in motion contingency plans, migration beyond the edge of known space, intending to build a new home for the Zanarri family.
